Prof. John Kennedy
ACADEMIC/PROJECT LEAD
Trinity College Dublin
Dr. John Kennedy is Associate Professor in Vibrations, Acoustics and Dynamics at Trinity College Dublin. Dr. Kennedy’s work explores the integration of acoustic design, data-driven optimisation, and emerging manufacturing technologies to create tunable, high-performance solutions for vibration and noise mitigation. Dr. Kennedy has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and has served on scientific committees for the Aeroacoustics Specialists Committee of the Council of European Aerospace Societies and the International JVE Conferences. He is a Member of the Institute of Acoustic (MIOA) and an academic affiliate of the Association of Acoustic Consultants of Ireland (AACI). For 13 years he has acted as the Irish coordinator for the Institute of Acoustics’ Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control.

Prof. Enda Murphy
ACADEMIC LEAD
University College Dublin
Enda is Professor and Head of Planning at the School of Architecture, Planning and Environmental Policy where he is also programme director for the Professional Diploma in Foundation of Sustainable Development. He is also a UCD academic lead for the Sustainability and Climate Committee of Una Europa and Chair of the University's Core Working Group on SDG Engagement and Impact. He is a member of the UN SDSN SDG Academy High Level Advisory Council (HLAC) whose mission focuses on the international development of Education for Sustainable Development and is currently Chair of the Irish Transport Research Network (ITRN). His research interests are broad in scope but centre on the areas of urban transportation and spatial planning, environmental noise, neoliberalism/neoliberalisation, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Prof. Eoin King
ACADEMIC LEAD
University of Galway
Dr. Eoin King is a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering and Programme Director for Mechanical Engineering at the University of Galway. His research focuses on environmental acoustics, noise control, transportation noise, and the role of sound in sustainable urban design. He has led and collaborated on projects examining the measurement, modelling, and mitigation of environmental noise, with a particular interest in linking technical solutions to policy and community engagement. Dr. King is a member of the European Commission Noise Expert Group and has previously served on the Board of the Institute of Noise Control Engineering (USA) and the International WELL Building Institute’s Sound Concept Advisory Panel. He has authored or co-authored more than 70 academic journal papers, book chapters, conference papers, and technical reports.

Guo Ye
PhD REASERCHER
Trinity College Dublin
Guo holds a B.Sc. in Ecology from Hainan University and an M.Sc. in Geographic Information Science from the University of Manchester. He has actively participated in multiple research projects in both China and the UK and is a member of the GIS, Mapping and Earth Observation (GISMEO) community at the University of Manchester. He also has industry experience in model testing at iFLYTEK (AI company), where he worked on intelligent vehicle voice recognition and human–machine interaction. His research interests focus on applying GIS, remote sensing, and GPS technologies, combined with machine learning methods, for spatio-temporal modelling and environmental applications.

Bohao Sun
PhD REASERCHER
University College Dublin
Bohao holds a B.Eng. in Hydroacoustic from Harbin Engineering University and an M.Sc. in Signal & Information Processing from the Institute of Acoustic, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has participated in several projects in acoustic system design and digital signal processing. Additionally, he has industry experience in audio technology at Honor (consumer electronics company), where he worked on acoustic modules for smartphones. His research interests focus on noise signal analysis and data-driven soundscape modeling, with a research vision in applying his acoustic knowledge and smartphone experience to the Noise 2050 project.

Priscila Villar
PhD RESEARCHER
University of Galway
Priscila holds a B.Sc. in Acoustical Engineering with experience in environmental noise assessment and technical measurement methods. She also holds a postgraduate qualification in Project Management and an MBA. She has worked with the Brazilian Association for Acoustical Quality (ProAcústica), where her work focused on urban noise mapping and policy development. She collaborated on a pilot urban noise map with the São Paulo City Council, engaging with public agencies and stakeholders, and contributing to the promulgation of São Paulo’s municipal noise mapping legislation. She is a member of the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) and brings experience that bridges technical acoustics, standardisation, and policy-oriented work in environmental noise.
